I have been working with the Middlebury School of Russian on a website aiming to help students prepare for their immersion experience. The website includes alphabet lessons for beginners, scenarios to help students learn pragmatics, an interactive map, an interactive timeline, a language self-assessment, and an interactive challenge about the language pledge.
You can visit the website at the following url or check out a few of the activities that are housed there below.
Alphabet review lesson – A Day in St. Petersburg
In this lesson, right after they learn the alphabet, students use their newly-acquired skills to navigate a day in St. Petersburg.
In this scenario, students learn some politeness formulas that they might use in their dorm room.
